Volunteer at Run the Parkway, Sacramentos only running event that 100% benefits the American River Parkway Foundation!

Located at the intersections and turns along the race course, Course Marshals are responsible for directing vehicle traffic and runners to ensure safety of all participants and that runners remain on course. Course Marshal volunteers will go directly to their assigned spot and be met by the SRA course team to answer any questions, they do not need to go to Hagan Community Park first.

There are 25 locations where we need one Course Marshal each, if requested we will put two Course Marshals together. After registering, please email volunteer@arpf.org if you want to request a specific location or Co-Course Marshal.

Volunteers 17 and under must bring a Youth Waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. In addition, volunteers 15 and younger must have a parent or legal guardian supervising them for the entire event. Volunteers 18 and over must bring a completed and signed 2023 Waiver. Everyone needs to watch the safety video you are redirected to after finishing this registration.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
For the safety of our volunteers, ARPF volunteer events are subject to cancellation in the case of weather, flooding, and other natural causes. Cancellations will be posted on the ARPF calendar at least 24 hours before the event start time, and all registered volunteers will receive an email notification.

What to wear: Sturdy/comfortable closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, weather appropriate clothes.

What to bring: Water and a headlamp! Take breaks & learn the signs of heat exhaustion. 

Parking: Your Course Marshal location and a free volunteer parking pass will be emailed to you the week of the event.
