Join us at the American River Parkway Foundation's very own Native Plant Garden for Service and Stories as part of the Sacramento National Park City Festival! This Family Friendly event is perfect for families with small children. Once we collect everyone's waivers we will start of the event by reading a storybook in the garden about the importance of nature. We'll then put that new knowledge to action by doing some kid-friendly gardening and weed pulling. Feel free to come early or stay late to enjoy William B Pond.

Volunteers 17 and under must bring a Youth Waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian. Volunteers 15 and under must be accompanied at all times by a parent or legal guardian. Volunteers 18 and over must bring a completed and signed 2023 Waiver.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
For the safety of our volunteers, ARPF volunteer events are subject to cancellation in the case of weather, flooding, and other natural causes. Cancellations will be posted on the ARPF calendar at least 24 hours before the event start time, and all registered volunteers will receive an email notification.

What to wear: sturdy/comfortable closed-toe shoes, hat, long pants, long-sleeves, weather appropriate clothes, gloves, sunscreen, & bug spray.

What to bring: Water! Take breaks & learn the signs of heat exhaustion. Bring your own gardening gloves and tools if you want!

Park in the ARPF Parking lot or use one of the volunteer parking passes we will be passing out to avoid a parking ticket.
